On Saturday May 7th, 2015, Stuart Crew enjoyed the great weather and brought home gold, silver and bronze medals at the Virginia State Rowing Championship that took place on Sandy Run Park in Lorton, VA.

–Emily Nguyen and Marissa Shand are the 2015 State Champions and gold medalists in the Women’s Lightweight Double.

–Bobby Dubas, Colin Sullivan, Peter McGuigan and Chris Witkowski are silver medalists in the Men’s Quad.

–Laura Hegemann, Erin Dubas, Stephanie Shand and Maddie Smith are bronze medalists in the Women’s Quad.

–Parker Novak and Maggie Crotty are bronze medalists in the Women’s Lightweight Double.

The team will represent Stuart and Virginia at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championship Regatta in NJ on May 22 and 23.

The winning double and both quads used our three new Kangua boats, the “Skylark,” “Saber”, and “Shine On” (recently dedicated to the memory of Stuart grad Casey Schulman) — all purchased with the help of friends and family of Stuart Crew current and past members.
