My thanks to the team members and parents who came out to compete (and support) yesterday in the Prince William Rowing Club Invitational Erg Sprints. I’m proud of the effort each put forth and the way you represented Stuart HS. I’d also like to recognize the hard work of coaches Shannon Hoff and Chip Shand … including Chip’s effort to get 8 ergs down to Woodbridge. Finally, thanks to Heidi Gioseffi for her tireless efforts to photograph  our activities.

There were 140 entries (24 for Stuart) across 10 individual events (freshman, 16/under, lightweight, 18/under, and coxswain) from Woodbridge, Hylton, Forest Park, South County, and Stuart. On top of that, there were 15 mixed relay teams (4 for Stuart) and 20 parent/child relay teams (3 for Stuart). I’ve listed all competitors below.

We left yesterday with a number of medals:

Freshman girls – Isabelle Schrock – Silver

16/under boys – Steven Mullane – Bronze

16/under girls – Erin Dubas – Gold; Pasha McGuigan – Silver

Lightweight girls – Marissa Shand – Gold

18/under girls – Emma Wiley – Gold; Stephanie Shand – Silver

Coxswain/boys  – Parker Leonard – Bronze

Mixed Relay – Gold (Steven Mullane, Stephanie Shand, Pasha McGuigan, Peter McGuigan)

Parent Relay – Gold/Father-Daughter – Pete & Emma Wiley; Silver/Father-Daughter – Chip & Marissa Shand
