The next few months are busy ones for Stuart Crew. Please read on and respond, sign up, and get psyched (not necessarily in that order).
Crew Open House, Sunday September 25th at Lake Barcroft. This is the event where we bring up a few boats, invite the Stuart community, and take prospective rowers and even some interested 8th graders on the water. We talk about the sport of rowing and Stuart Crew with our friends in the Lake Barcroft community, faculty, and parents. Some years, even school board members have stopped by. We need rowers to load boats at Sandy Run, staff the Open House, and unload boats again back at Sandy Run. We need parents to bring food contributions, help cook food, talk with parents of prospective rowers, and generally help with supervision and the moving around of equipment. This is less like work and more of a fun, carnival-like atmosphere. More information here.
There are two Signup Genius lists — please sign up so we know we have enough people to do the necessary boat moving and hospitality. The actual Open House is at Beach 4 (3526 Duff Drive). Please drum up some interest, and get your friends to come.

Coming Up in October — Wreath, Poinsettia, and Coffee Fundraiser. The weekends of October 15/16 and 22/23, are scheduled for our door-to-door sales of wreaths, poinsettias, and Stuart Crew Brew in and around JEB Stuart neighborhoods. Please mark these weekends on your calendar. All rowers will need to fulfill three routes, and parents are needed to drive the rowers on their routes. Also, start thinking about who you can connect up who don’t live around here (relatives, colleagues, businesses, churches, etc. …). We have not only a local delivery program, but an option to ship wreaths and greenery. All products can be viewed and ordered at our online shop.
All rowers are expected to participate in the Open House and Wreath, Poinsettia, and Coffee sales events. They are the biggest recruiting and fundraising events of the year, respectively.
