Happy New Year Stuart Rowers and Crew Family!
Now that we’ve turned the corner into 2017, here are a few reminders from your Stuart Crew Registrar.
1. Second installment dues payments are due by Jan. 15. You can turn these in (payable to JEB Stuart Crew Boosters) to the crew mailbox in the front office or mail them to Stuart Crew, PO Box 2377, Falls Church, VA 22042. The booster meeting next week is also an opportunity to hand these to Registrar Mari Mullane.
2. You may still have paperwork that needs to be completed. All forms are available here.
3. You can now complete your USRowing waiver (which couldn’t be done before Jan. 1, and has to be done before you can go on the water in February). More detail below.
US Rowing Waiver (parental involvement required)
A. Go to https://membership.usrowing.org/.
B. If this is your first season, choose “join” under “Individuals.” Returning rowers, can choose “sign waiver” under “members” in the “Individuals” section. You can search for the team under JEB. You’ll also need the club code on the next page (ALN94). If you have an existing record, you’ll be asked to log in.
• If you search by name and birth date you may be presented with multiple records. This typically means that you have signed multiple waivers in the past and were given a new USRowing Member ID number each time. If there is a record that says “Paid Membership” or “Championship Membership,” select that record to update. Make sure your membership is good through at least June 15, 2017. If not, select the oldest basic/waiver‐only membership to update.
• If this is your first year, you won’t have a record in the USRowing database. You’ll need to complete your profile to be able to sign the waiver. Select the basic account.
C. The next page will be an overview of the member’s information (or an opportunity to add information for new rowers). Make any necessary changes/inputs to the profile information. Please note that the member is the ROWER, not the parent.
D. From the left hand column, click on the green check/waiver icon.
E. If this is your first season, you’ll need to complete the questions (no penalties for wrong answers) and other waiver information and hit submit.
F. Provide your credit card information for the $5.75 fee.
G. The confirmation page will show the USRowing Member ID number of the profile you just updated. Make note of this number for your records.
Also note: While parents are the ones who “sign” the waiver, the registration should be made in the ROWER’s name.
And returning rowers who have a Championship USRowing membership (most often, those who rowed for a summer program) need to add a 2017 Stuart waiver to that membership, as noted above in item B.
Please contact the registrar if you:
1. Can’t remember how much you’ve paid so far/how much you owe for dues.
2. Can’t remember which pieces of paperwork you still need to complete.
3. Are a returning rower and need your USRowing membership number (although you should be able to find your membership if you know your name and birth date–not as ridiculous as it sounds. We had a rower last year who had registered in their novice season under a sibling’s birth date).
4. Are having any difficulties with the waiver process.
Thank you.
