Earth Day. We had a great turnout yesterday for our Earth Day fundraiser. We netted around $600 for the team. I think we also did some good, and important, outreach with Lake Barcroft Community. Thanks to everyone who schlepped, baked, organized, sold food, etc.  A special tip of the hat to our grill and prep parents Yamil and Agnetta Palacios, David Trissell, and Paul Taylor, who worked the whole time. A couple of other shout outs … novices did a fine job of running Race-A-Rower and Tucker Trissell (Lincoln’s younger brother) was the most enthusiastic rower, with five races under his belt.

We had the following rowers participate: Noorah, Soliana, Brooke, Michelle, John, Julian, Liam D., Markus, Torin, Liam F., Warner, Layton, Charles, Natalie, Destinae, Drake, Lleymi, Long, Pasha, Heidy, Helina, Steven, Lleymi, Jason, Caroline, Isabelle, Jimmy, Noah, Lincoln, India, Elisha, Mackenzie, Layton and Trish — apologies in advance if any names were inadvertently left off the kudos.

Guest Trainer. Thanks to Sandra Coronado (John and Michelle’s mom) for arranging for her personal trailer to come work with the team on strength conditioning, proper body position for lifts, lunges, and squats and the importance of stretching.  Trainer Marcus put the rowers through their paces last Thursday. Since Marcus provided his services and expertise to the team for free, I thought I’d share his website so you could check it out if you are in the market for a personal trainer https://brutalmindsetfitness.com/. We are hoping to have him back again for another group activity sometime either this spring or next year for winter conditioning.

More to come as the week progresses … since Friday is prom, we are looking to potentially move our practice day from Friday to Wednesday. Looking at coaching coverage. Will let you know soon (later today).
