Mark Your Calendar: All Hands Events in June

- Sunday, June 3rd @ 4:00 // Stuart Crew End-of-Season Picnic/Potluck. This is our fun, end-of year picnic and awards ceremony open to rowers, family members, coaches and volunteers. We’ll do a little business, like voting on new Board of Director’s officers for next year and picking captains, then get down to the awarding of varsity letters, special rowing awards and thanking our coaches and volunteers. If you are interested in being on the Justice Crew Board please let me know. Both Mari and I are graduating and the Board will need a President/VP and could use additional help with Treasurer position. We will grill some hamburgers and hotdogs and ask that you bring a dish to pass (make it pretty big — as you know, rowers can eat). Instead of yet another signup Genius, here is guidance regarding potluck dishes (please do not bring anything in a glass container — pool rules).
- Coxswains — dessert
- Prefer to row port — vegetable or fruit
- Prefer to row starboard — pasta or other grain
- Coaches — come and eat
- Location: Broyhill Crest Pool, 7212 Early Street. Please sign in with the lifeguards and tell them you are with the Stuart Crew Team. Also, don’t forget to bring suits and towels if you’d like to
- June 4-8th // Glasgow Middle School Recruiting & Erg Event (Need Your Help):.This is the second year that we will be working with P.E. teachers at Glasgow Middle School to introduce rowing and erging to all the Glasgow 8th graders. This is a great way of making potential novices aware that the school has a rowing team and introduce them to the sport. We’ll need rowers who are available from 7:45 to 1:50 each day and can get their own transportation to Glasgow. You’ll have to call into the attendance office and let them know you’ll be absent. Merari Chollette (Julienne’s mom) is spearheading this event, but she is going to be away next week. Please sign up for a slot or two if you can — meet your future teammates. - Saturday, June 30th // Alumni and Friends Event. More information will be coming your way on this event, but please mark your calendars. It will include the following events:
- Parent and Alumni Row @10:00 at Sandy Run. If you’d like to go out in a boat, this is your chance.
- JEB Stuart Crew Alumni & Friends Cookout @ Lake Barcroft, Beach 5. Volunteers Vivian Haran and Regina Cruz will be reaching out soon for more help in the planning and execution of this event. This event will start around 3:00.
