WHAT: Work Day at the Boathouse. To complete our re-branding to Justice Rowing, we’ll be sanding oars (bring a power sander if you have one), taping ones already painted, de-rigging some of our boats, some general cleaning/maintenance, as well as pulling up our launches for the Winter.
WHEN: 9 AM–12 Noon
WHERE: Sandy Run Boathouse, 10450 Van Thompson Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039
WHO: All hands and New Rowers—a great opportunity to meet the team, explore the boathouse, and see where you’ll be practicing/rowing! Parents, come and check out our boathouse and the scenic Sandy Run grounds. Take a hike out to the grandstands—where hiking boots/walking shoes. There’s an incline and somewhat rugged terrain in a beautiful setting along the Occoquan Reservoir.
LAUNCH TRAINING: We will be offering launch training as well. We are still in need of several launch drivers for this year’s regatta season. Each team is require to provide 2 launch drivers for each regatta and so we need a bench of several trained folks. If you’ve ever driven an outboard motor before, WE NEED YOU!
