We finished Week 1 on a chilly, damp Saturday. You’ll find some pictures and videos from practice taken by Heidi Gioseffi at Justice Rowing Photo/Video Highlights Gallery.
The Week Ahead
- Tomorrow the forecast winds are ~20mph and if they remain that way we’ll likely switch to in indoor practice at the school. Rowers, watch for text/Twitter updates.
- Tuesday looks better … temps in the 40s with light winds. Make sure you have water and extra clothes.
- Wednesday … not a practice day, but the team picture will be taken in the Main Gym at 3:15. Given we don’t have new uniforms yet, the captains will discuss what to wear with the team tomorrow.
- Thursday looks decent, with showers moving in on Friday and Saturday. Coaches have a mandatory Safety Meeting with the Sandy Run Park management at the Lorton Regional Park at 7:30 pm on Thursday.
- We will plan to practice on Saturday morning (9 am-noon) for the remainder of the time at Lake Barcroft.
March 16: ALL HANDS
We now have three weeks left at Barcroft and will pack up and head back to Sandy Run on March 16th … all rowers should plan to be there.
March 23: Polar Bear Regatta
Our first competition will be the Polar Bear Regatta on March 23rd … this will be a small regatta and will not include novice events; however, novices should plan to attend to support their teammates and experience how a regatta is run.
March 30: Regional Park Regatta
The first chance for our novice rowers to compete will be the Regional Park Regatta on March 30th.
See you tomorrow …
