Beautiful day for racing yesterday …
A recap below
- The Men’s Junior 4+ (Trish/Brandon/Lincoln/Elisha/Jimmy) gave us our first win of the season in the final against West Potomac, Oakton, Broad Run, Mount Vernon, and Stone Bridge.
- Over the last two weekends all but one of our novices have had a chance to compete … yesterday the novice women (Cate/Emily/Liv/Suliana/Jordan), across the 2 novice flights, turned in a better time than Louden County and John Paul, while our novice men (Eaden/Alberto/Carlos/Sam/Nestor) bested Lounden County in their flight.
- The men’s 1st 4X (Charles/Julian/Liam F./Kurt) got 4th place in the senior final beating Potomac and Gar-Field.
- The men’s 2nd 4X (John/Jason/Liam D/Aidan) finished third in their final ahead of Gar-Field.
- The experienced women rowed doubles yesterday … with the senior 2X (Julienne/Brooke) taking Western Abermarle for third in the final and our LW 2X (Margaret/Destinae) taking third with a time that would have given them second in the junior 2X.
You can see highlights from yesterday at the Justice Rowing gallery here (Thanks, Heidi!).
My thanks as well to those rowers who came out to support the team even though they weren’t competing.
We’ll compete again on the Occoquan next Saturday at the Darrell Winslow Regatta. The schedule this time will have small boats in the morning, so expect our entries to be earlier in the day.
It appears we’ll be missing some rowers with the start of Spring Break, so lineups will have to be adjusted to account for that.
See you at the boathouse…
Coach Mike
