Rowers/Parents,
Another Stotesbury is in the record books. Check out the photos from Heidi (and the entire season at the Justice Rowing photo gallery).
A special thanks to David Trissell, Ivan Watson, Heidi Gioseffi, and Coach Rob for driving our rowers, equipment, and food to Philadelphia. To the rowers … you represented Justice well. As would be expected at Stotesbury, the competition was tough—none of the boats that raced in the Junior 4+ event at the VASRA Championship made the top 18 cut this year, including the winner, TC Williams. The time to start preparing for a shot next season is now.
This week Brooke Carmody is preparing to represent Justice and Virginia in the Senior Single event at the SRAA National Championship Regatta at Dillon Lake, Ohio. Please wish your teammate well as she gets ready to drive West this Thursday.
As our season is coming to a close, we’ll need all hands to move us to the offseason. Look for a schedule of workdays in the coming weeks—some of our launches will need to be brought onshore, outside boats will need a coat of wax, and more :-). We also have the Varsity Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 30 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium, a carwash on June 1 and our Awards Picnic on June 2. Watch for dates to attend to our crew days at Glasgow Middle School in June in addition to the Activities Fair on June 6, as well as opportunities to work on your skills at Green Days over the summer. We encourage you to sign up for a summer rowing program—talk with your coach about finding the right program for you.
See you at the boathouse …
Coach Mike
