A Final Note from Coach Mike

All,

Congratulations to all our seniors on their graduation. Best wishes to Brooke, Emily, Charles, Kurt, Julian, Liam, Sebastian, Luis, and John as they start the next phase of their lives.

Also, thank you very much for all the effort that went into the team awards picnic last weekend. The food was great and I’m especially grateful for the gifts from the team and the boosters. The blade with one side as “Stuart” and the other side as “Justice” is a very innovative idea, symbolizing our transition this past year. The scrapbook covering the last eight seasons brought back lots of wonderful memories from over the years.

I appreciate all the support and hard work from a long list of parents and rowers. I’ve enjoyed being able to stay in touch with many and watch our graduates continue to grow.

Finally, thank you to my fellow coaches (past and present) and the boosters, to Heidi and Marilyn (and others) for bringing our team’s story to life through photos, Heidi again for building the best website in VASRA, to Bob Finley for the many hours we spent at the boathouse working on boats as well as the Lake Barcroft ops support, to River Rats Paul and Marty for the countless hours they put in giving us a course to race on, to Coach Chip for the many miles of road warrior time trailering to distant venues, and to the booster leadership over the years who always carried a heavy load keeping the team moving forward—Jenny, Bob, Chris, Linda, Mari, and David.
