Good evening, Justice Rowing family,

We’ve officially kicked off racing season successfully! The Polar Bear regatta was a smaller and faster event than in years past, but we made the most of it and got our feet wet (not literally). I am so grateful to all of our volunteers, parents, and coaches for helping making this racing season a reality, so let’s dive in!

The men’s quad (M 1-4x) kicked off the racing this morning with a strong start and fast finish. While they were the only quad entered in their event this weekend, they took advantage of the opportunity to reflect on their own performance and plan for future competition. The women’s quad (W 1-4x) followed immediately afterwards and fought hard through the finish in a larger and more competitive field. Finally the novice men got off to a rough start in their heat. But after going several lengths down, they battled back impressively to finish above another crew.

This coming week we’ll be making adjustments and gearing up for The Regional Park Regatta next Saturday. The coaches and I are hoping to add a few more lineups to the mix and get everyone out and racing. Rowers, please take time to rest and recover before we head back to the water on Monday.

Be safe, be well, and row strong.
