Justice Rowing Community:
In addition to Regattas going on each weekend in April and May, we have many other activities where we will need your help and are asking you to volunteer. Please participate and/or reach out to help on one of the events below.
1) Paisano Pizza Nights, Sunday 4/24 through Wednesday 4/27
Eat a pizza (or two!) and Justice Rowing will receive a portion of the proceeds from purchases at the following Piasano locations: Annandale, Falls Church (W Broad Street) and Bailey’s Crossroads. Download flyer. here We raised almost $300 at our recent Chipotle Fundraiser. Thank you!
2) Rivanna Regatta, April 16
We have been invited to a NEW regatta near Charlottesville, VA and we will need adult volunteers to provide support for carpooling to get rowers down to the Rivanna River for those boats traveling. The trailer will be loaded on Friday, April 15. The Albemarle High School Rowing Boosters will provide some food on race day. The boats traveling will be announced as soon as possible. If you have any questions about boat assignments or availability, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Coach Rob. If you are going, please sign the liability waiver for travel to this regatta and bring it to Coach Rob.
3) May 15—Lake Barcroft Sand Day
We’ve been invited to host a concession area at the Lake’s Spring opening, where the beaches are refreshed and the Lake gets ready for the Summer season. We also hope to host a “Race a Rower” event on the ERGs as well! Volunteers will be needed to organize, plan, and cook. Please let us know if you can help out! A Signup Genius is coming soon!
4) Car Washes—Sundays, April 24 and May 22 from 12 Noon to 5:00 PM (12 Noon set up time, 12:30 PM official start, end at 4:30 PM, clean up until 5:00 PM)
Save the dates and stay tuned for more details and a Signup Genius. Thanks to the Browns for coordinating!
5) Stotesbury Regatta, Philadelphia, May 19-21
Decisions about which boats will be going to this regatta will be made towards the end of the season based on boat competition times and our competitiveness with the expected teams participating. The Boosters will coordinate with the parents of those rowers selected to row to help make arrangements to attend, including carpool, food, etc. We have already booked hotel rooms for the event, May 19-21, and will provide more details later. If you have any questions about expected attendance, please contact Coach Rob.
