19th Annual PWRC Invitational High School Erg Sprints

Saturday, February 11, 2023
Gar-Field Senior High School
8:00 am – 3:00 pm

On February 11th, we have our outside erg sprints at Gar-Field HS. This is an “expected” event (if you have a really good reason not to be there, I understand: like if that is the SciOli championship). All rowers will be doing a 1500m piece against their peers from several other high schools in a range of events, but there are also additional optional events – a two-person sprint on slides, a 4x500m team relay, and the infamous 500m parent/child relay. Your rower should have already talked to you about the last one. Normally, the rowers show up between 8 and 9, depending on when their heat is, and stay until the end (which is normally before 3:00 PM and is a fun team event). There will be plenty of Justice Rowers to cheer for throughout the day.

It has been requested that I figure out when we can get parents on the erg to practice ahead of time. If there is interest, I’ll hold a parent erg session at Justice at 5:30 this Friday. I’ll give you the basics, show you how to apply your strength properly (not like the average person at the gym), and make sure you won’t hurt yourself.

Row clean,
Coach Nate
