T-shirts are available for pre-order through Sandra. Provide proof of payment and the shirts will be at the grandstand for pick up. We still have last week’s shirts available. Both shirts will be at the concessions stand this week for sale.
The regatta is scheduled to end at 12:44 pm. Current schedule can be found on the vasra.org website under Heatsheets on main landing page. Be advised that changes may occur during the coaches’ meeting on Friday night. Print Saturday morning or late Friday night.
There have been changes made to volunteer jobs. Morning set up and concessions volunteers should be signed in and ready at 6 am to begin their shift. This should not change anyone’s jobs this weekend.
The following people are cleared to park on-site this weekend.
David Trissell, Melanie Brook Wiess, Mark Ward, and Heidi Gioseffi are weekend volunteers.
Beth McMartin, Machelle Nowlin, and Zach Hardy LOCs (please park at the grandstand)
Rowers that wish to park on-site must be the driver of the vehicle to park on-site. Your parent(s) can be passengers in your car, but Rowers must be the driver. Parents may drop rowers off but must park at South County High School.
Parking is at South County High School 8501 Silverbrook Rd, Lorton, VA 22079. Please allow extra time for the buses to get you to Sandy Run. Shuttles are $15 round trip. More Volunteer Positions To Be Filled
There are schools that are in need of filling new jobs that have been added to the regatta. If you can fill one of these jobs please text Sandra (number in email dated 4/6/2023).
- Driver Referee 7:30 a.m. to end of day
- Helper Set-up 6:00 am until the course is ready for the race. The job will end before 9 am.
In an effort to curb cost VASRA has rented the course to many other groups wanting to have regattas during the season. However, this still requires additional help to get these regattas off. The river rats, VASRA management, and other key VASRA people help. But we still need additional helpers at those regattas. This is an opportunity to see higher levels of competition. Rowers may volunteer at these regattas. If you need volunteer hours here’s a way to get some.
This weekend the Navy will be rowing at Sandy Run. Watch the races and volunteer.
