Dear fellow coaches and team administrators,
The VIRGINIA ROWING ASSOCIATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA is glad to announce camp dates for this Summer ’23:
Week 1: July 9 to 14 FULL – NO SPOTS LEFT – NO WAIT LIST
Week 2; July 16 to 21 has 7 spots left
Week 3: July 23 to 28 has 6 spots left
Although we sometimes can make some wiggle room, we want to make sure that some boys from your teams don’t get left out when others might have registered already.
Find all the info at the registration link.
Camp week starts with drop-off at the Blue Ridge School between 1pm and 1:30pm (Sunday). At the end of the week, pick-up will be at the Boathouse at 11 AM on the last day (Friday).
Our camps, for the past 12 years, have exclusively focused on immersion into rowing. All our campers have the opportunity to scull, row singles, big boats – all of it. Our focus is on skill development. Besides our water sessions, we run workshops of the physics/biomechanics, physiology, the mental game (incl. 2k race plans), and team culture. We keep our camps relatively small (20-24 kids per week) in order to have a proper coach-athlete ratio as well as the ability to be flexible with our training.
All our camp staff (coaches and counselors) are part of our team here, as we immerse ourselves in the fun of teaching rowing! For any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or my assistant coach, Bailey Hughes (bailey@virginiarowing.org), she will also be a camp coach, besides myself and our Head Novice Coach Walker Hauptman.
Kind Regards,
Frank
