Week Behind
Justice Rowing showed up big for Virginia State Championships, Day 2!
With 8 boats competing in the rain (it is a Saturday, and we were racing, so of course it rained for our events), we finished 3rd in three events and fourth in two more. Facing the toughest competition in Virginia, we rowed some of the best races of the season and finished with many of our best results. The two boats that medaled (in order to get a medal, you have to finish ahead of 2 boats and be in the top 3 finishers, so the Women’s Senior Quad finished 3rd but did not get a medal) were
- Men’s Senior Quad (Danny Coronado-Cortez, Charlie Hess, Nathan Ward, and Ethan Sobol) and the
- Women’s Junior Quad (Anna Lyons, Brooke Ehmann-Jones, Sabrina Ehmann-Jones, and Chloé Bernasconi)

Week Ahead
With one last regatta, The Stotesbury Cup in Philadelphia, we will be focused on getting the select crews ready to race in an even more competitive environment. We are taking a Men’s Senior Quad, Men’s Senior Double, Men’s Junior Quad, Women’s Senior Double, and Women’s Freshman Quad (finally, our freshman get to race against fair competition). We encourage all rowers to show up this week, even if they are not racing at Stotesbury. We will be having fun with lineups, where rowers get to row in positions that they have not traditionally rowed, while still focusing on getting better technically in preparation for the rest of their rowing career. On Wednesday, we will only take out the Stotesbury boats, before loading the trailer to travel to Philadelphia. If any rowers would like to come assist with that process as well, we would love the extra help. Also, we will not be using the bus for any transport this week; we should have plenty of car seats for all rowers, based on the head counts rowers gave on Friday.
