A Message from VASRA President Dorothy Lazor
Please share this with your teams. The website is in the process of being updated, as needed for function during the season pending a complete postseason review/reconstruction.
- Regatta Heat Sheets are posted Thursday evening about 9:00pm. Heat sheets are subject to change and will be updated in the Google sheet link.
- Social Media for regatta results. We will be using X (Twitter) follow: @VASRA_SRRP
Results will continue to be posted on Mastodon and in the Google sheet on the website.
- Offsite Parking. All spectator parking is off site. The information for the offsite parking locations is in the Key Dates, the Directions & Parking section on the Regatta Central regatta page, in the NOVA Parks-Sandy Run Operations Manual and on the top of the Heat Sheet for the regatta. There are two regattas that will not be using South County HS parking: the Regional Park Regatta and the Ted Phoenix Regatta, which will be using the Commuter Lot at Rt. 123 and Old Bridge Rd.
- Offsite Shuttle Buses will run from the Offsite locations to Sandy Run Lot C beginning at 7:00am for the regular season regattas and conclude running 1 hour after the last race. For VSRC the shuttle buses will begin at 6:30 am and continue until 1 hour after the last race. The fee for the shuttle bus from the offsite location will be $15 paid prior to entering the bus and will cover the round trip cost. Athletes in uniform, who elect to use the off site shuttle will ride free of charge. Shuttles are free for individuals 5 and under for both offsite parking areas and finish line shuttles.
- Parking at Sandy Run. There is onsite parking for: athletes, coaches, regatta staff, officials-referees, and volunteers. Parking Document attached and in Regatta Central. Handicapped or mobility impaired persons may park in Lot C.
- Handicapped or Mobility Impaired Parking. If you have persons with mobility issues be aware that the off site buses do not have ADA capacity as we have onsite parking in Lot C. It is helpful that those persons using this parking contact assisted.parking@vasra.org prior to the regatta.
- Finish Line Shuttle. This season we are using a minibus, 28 pax for this service. The fee for the shuttle is $5 each way. One of these buses is ADA compliant, however, the off loading point at the finish line may prove challenging. Also there is a paved road between the finish and the grandstand that might be easier to go down than come up. Again assisted.parking@vasra.org which can provide a gator to the grandstand. Once you are there and need transport up to the parking lot contact the primary person, usually Sandra or Yamil, at the concessions stand and they should be able to assist with getting the gator down for pick up. Please be aware that the gator may be employed on a different task and take some time to respond, but will as soon as possible.
- Team Tents. Team tents are for Athlete only. They may be set up in the area below the C/D Lot barrier, which has been designated an athlete/coaches/staff zone only, as has the Point: No spectators and no parents manning the tents. This policy is inline with MAAPP and SafeSport guidelines. The tents may be set up by parents prior to the regattas, the day before or by 7 am the morning of the race. Sponsor’s banners may be displayed at the tent.
- Sale of team apparel is not allowed at regattas.
