First, thank you to everyone who showed up last night to our General Meeting. It was great to see a lot of new rowers and parents/guardians. I know I shared a lot of information with you regarding the rowing program and what we do. A lot of information is available on the website at www.justicerowing.org, including a calendar with key dates (boat moves and regattas) and the sign up sheets.
Second, we are in the process of setting up the overall registration process so that rowers can officially be on the team starting with our first official practice on Monday, February 17. There are a few more bits of information we need to sort out. We will provide a registration checklist later in November. In the meantime…if your rower will be joining us for winter conditioning starting on Monday, December 2, below are the critical actions you must do PRIOR TO THE START OF WINTER CONDITIONING. Please start this process now because it takes a few days for JHS administration to review health forms and clear rowers in their computer system:
WINTER CONDITIONING ACTIONS:
- Download, print, fill out and have a doctor sign the VHSL physical exam form.
- Complete the online Justice High School athlete registration.
- Turn in your completed VHSL physical form to Justice High School’s Head Athletic Trainer Mr. Korey Berg
- Download, sign, and turn-in a HARDY COPY of the following forms on the first day of winter conditioning the
- Justice Rowing liability release form (SEE ATTACHED)
- FCPS Emergency Care Information form
Finally, we are in the process of cleaning up the email distribution list and starting to use Constant Contact for certain communication. My goal is to have a few different lists to send out communications: current parents/guardians, rowers, supporters, combined. Please bear with us as we get this set up. More information to come.
