I am coordinating the Justice Rowing volunteer obligations for VASRA — the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association, a fully volunteer-led organization.
The 4 volunteer activities below are to help the “River Rats” set up the race course for the spring racing season at Sandy Run Boathouse, where we row on the Occoquan River.
Can be fun, but you must be prepared to be cold and wet.
We only need 1 adult or student (freshman or older) to help for each of these slots. Sign Up here or email me directly if you would like to sign up for one of the following:
Sat Feb 22 1-4 PM
Sat March 1. 1-4 PM
Sat March 8 1-4 PM
Sat March 15 1-4 PM

If these don’t interest you, I will be sending out a SignUp Genius link for more volunteer opportunities at the regattas in the next few days.

NEED folks who LOVE working outside on land and water tinkering with rowing course equipment.

Parents, rowers, friends, and family. High School freshmen and older may volunteer. Students can earn volunteer hours for school requirements.

Be willing to get dirty and wet. Need to work on land and on a launch boat (not a driver) with the members of the River Rats. Be prepared for all weather, and dress comfortably in outdoor work clothes and proper outdoor shoes.

Report to the red River Rat shed next to VASRA HQ.
