All,

Another regatta in the records books … my thanks to the coaches, parents, and rowers for the great team work and support yesterday. Check out the pictures (Thanks, Heidi!) on Justice Rowing’s photo gallery.

Congrats to our men’s junior 4+ (Trish, Brandon, Lincoln, Elisha, Jimmy). After wining their heat, they were 3rd in a tough, close final.

Our women’s junior 2X (Noorah/Soliana) were third in the senior 2X final edging Forest Park.

Also, our men’s novice 8+ had their first chance to compete as an 8 yesterday and rowed to a 4th place finish, beating both TC Williams and Langley.

This week we will practice each day from 4-6:30 PM using carpools … Thanks to those who have volunteered to help transport our rowers. Novices, this week you can expect to be introduced to sculling.

Next Saturday there is no regatta or practice. The following weekend, we’ll compete in the Al Urquia Regatta (April 27th), and the week after that the full team will travel to Mathews to compete on the East River. All available rowers will race at Mathews.

The Mathews Regatta will mark the end of the season for some of our rowers. The following weekend, we’ll compete in the VASRA Championship Regatta. Entries are limited to our most competitive boats, and there are no novice events that day.

After the Championship some rowers will attend the Stotesbury Regatta in Philadelphia, and potentially the SRAA National Championship, if we qualify. More on these two regattas to come.

See you at the boathouse …

Coach Mike
