New Practice Schedule
Our original plan was to start practice next Monday, 11/15, but that is being pushed back in part due to the FCPS policy guidance on COVID-19 vaccinations and testing requirements, which we hope to clarify ASAP. We will start virtual practices via Zoom calls to introduce our standard bodyweight exercises led by coaches and captains on 11/18 at 4 P.M. These workouts will focus on strength and endurance. We ask that rowers also individually supplement their workouts with some form of cardio exercise (jogging and biking are great). We will be asking the school to allow us to return to in-person conditioning ASAP with the condition that all participating athletes have a valid COVID-19 vaccination on file with the JHS athletic trainer, Korey Berg, at kbberg@fcps.edu. We will let you know when we have permission to do this.
Spirit Wear Website Is Open for Pre-Orders!
Pre-order directly from our Spirit Wear website hosted by Burke Sporting Goods at JusticeRowSpiritWear2021 or share the link and the flyer for information about ordering branded spirit wear to show your support for Justice Rowing! Deadline for orders is 11/18 at 11:59 P.M. (next Thursday at midnight). We need a minimum of 12 orders per item in order to fulfill an order. A special shout out to the Spirit Wear team of Heidi, Monica, and Maureen!
Justice Rowing Jackets
If you are interested in ordering a rowing jacket for this season, please submit your request by Dec. 10 (size, personalization, etc.). Prices are determined based on how many jackets we order — from approximately $190 – $220. Once we have the order list, we’ll reach out and give you the exact payment amount. We will need all payments by Dec. 17 before we can order the jackets and to receive them by our first on the water practice in mid-February.
The “Custom Hydrotex Ultra Splash Jacket” can be viewed at https://sewsporty.com/collections/custom-splash-jackets-outerwear/products/custom-hydrotex-ultra-splash-jacket and ours will have a front pouch pocket and twill letters on the back. It’s the same company that we’ve been ordering uniforms and jackets from for years. You can also personalize your jacket – usually a first initial and last name, with graduation year. Sizes are: S (36-38); M (40-42); L (44-46); and XL (48-50).

New Regatta Schedule
FCPS has recently added two additional holidays to the calendar which are “no play” days for sports. As a result, our participation in the Walter Mess Regatta on 4/2/22 (Ramadan last day) is canceled, as is our participation in the Charlie Butt/Al Urquia Regatta on 4/23/22 (Passover last day).
