Erg Program at Glasgow, Open House & LTR Dates, VASRA Work Days

I hope everyone has had a great back-to-school experience so far. Although the crew season may seem a bit far off, it will be here before we know it! We are seeking volunteers for several opportunities this fall and would greatly appreciate your involvement. Please review the opportunities below and sign up where you can contribute.

Glasgow ERG Program: Similar to last year, we will hold an ERG session at Glasgow Middle School every third Wednesday, starting on September 17th.
- We need 3-4 parents to pick up the ergs and drive rowers from Justice HS to Glasgow MS, and then return to Justice.
- We also need 4-5 rowers to help run the sessions.

Fall Open House: We are also excited to announce our Open House on Sunday, October 12th
- We need parents to help set up at Beach 4, grill lunch, and bring snacks, desserts, and drinks
- We need rowers to meet at Sandy Run to prepare and load boats.
- Learn to Row days will be scheduled for the 3 weekends after the Open House (10/18, 10/26, 11/2)

VASRA Work Days: Each school is required to provide a volunteer for each of the 4/5 scheduled days. The best part is that the volunteers do not need to be parents — rowers can step up and earn service hours! Here’s the schedule and activities for each day:
- Day 1 (9/6): Tasks include disconnecting lane lines, thinning buoys, removing lane lines and buoys, and storing anchors. Volunteers will also arrange buoys by color and check buoy cables.
- Day 2 (9/13): Tasks include cleaning buoys, removing spreaders, setting anchors at Sandy Run, and storing diving boards. Volunteers will also store cleaned lane line buoys and assist in Headquarters.
- Day 3 (9/20): Tasks include cleaning buoys, respelling lane lines, and removing launches. Volunteers will also clean up the area adjacent to River Rats and Headquarters.
- Day 4 (9/27): Tasks include completing any remaining tasks from Day 3 and addressing maintenance and repair items.
- Day 5 (10/4): Reserved as a weather day.
