My thanks to all team members and parents for yesterday’s efforts in moving from Lake Barcroft to Sandy Run. Logistically it’s one of our busier days, so I really appreciated all the extra parent support moving and working on equipment as well as other on-site prep activity—we’re ready for the next phase of training which will start at Sandy Run on Monday. I’d also like to recognize the ongoing efforts of graduate parent, Bob Finley, who built the dock we use at Barcroft and handles installation and removal of that as well as the fencing.

For Monday, the bus will leave Stuart promptly at 3:30 pm, so aim to be on the bus by 3:15 pm. Remember to pack enough water for the entire practice, a snack, and dry clothes.

This week’s forecast does include periods of rain; however, rain alone will not cause us to cancel an on-water practice. On days were the forecast includes poor weather (thunderstorms, heavy rain, high winds) we will make the call to cancel the bus by 1 pm. If this happens we’ll notify the parents by email through the team account. In this case we’ll revert to an inside fitness session at the school (dance studio) until 6 pm.

This Thursday is the Team picture at the Stadium field (3:10 pm), then practice. Wear your gray team shirt … be prompt so you don’t delay the bus.

Also, it was great to put the new eight on the water yesterday. We ran out of time to get everybody out, but hopefully in the coming weeks everyone will get chance to try the new boat.

Plan on a 9 am – 12 pm practice for this upcoming Saturday. Transportation that day will be via carpool.

See you tomorrow …
